Dear Readers,

We have a tradition in our home to clean the house every week. My mom and I usually tackle the task dusting, vacuuming, mopping and polishing. In between this process we also sneak in a bit of creativity by rearranging furniture and redecorating. We both believe, “Change is as good as a holiday!”.

This week we wanted to add a splash of colour to the lounge. The lounge is filled with tan couches and displays a quite dull atmosphere. We’ve previously painted the ceiling white which really lightened up the room, however the couches still needed some colour.

Speaking of colour: the colour trends for 2017 includes greys, whites and blues. We made use of this trend to swap out some plain dark blue cushions. Previously used in my brother’s bedroom these dark blue cushions created a fresh and brand new look in the lounge. As easy as that your tan couch can be brightened up.

Tip: Try to buy plain coloured cushions rather than just owning bold designs. Plain colours can easily be swapped around, compliment other details and be reused in any space.

Love,

Maryke
